About us

Our story

Our company has deep roots in Sicilian olive-growing tradition, located in the heart of the Belice Valley. For generations, we have been passionately dedicated to cultivating olives and producing extra virgin olive oil. Our mission is to bring to your table a genuine product, the result of centuries of history and a love for the land.

The history of Partanna

Partanna is a municipality in the province of Trapani, situated on a hill 400 metres above sea level, between the valleys of the Madonie and Belice rivers. The name "Partanna" likely derives from the Arabic "Barthamnah," which means "dark land." The history of the municipality dates back to the Paleolithic era, as evidenced by artefacts found in Contrada Stretto, including cisterns, rock-cut tombs, and numerous Bronze Age ceramics.

From the land to the table

Our farm begins with the loving care of the olive trees, ensuring fertile soils and sustainable cultivation practices. The olives, carefully harvested, are transported to the mill to be processed using both traditional and modern methods. The resulting oil is then meticulously bottled and packaged, ready to be distributed directly to consumers, ensuring freshness and quality.

Castello Grifeo

Since the 11th century, the history of Partanna has been closely linked to the Grifeo family, who took over after the city was conquered by the Great Count Roger the Norman in 1076.

At the entrance to Partanna stands Castello Grifeo, one of the best-preserved castles in Trapani. It was owned by the Grifeo family for five centuries and later by the Adragna family of Trapani until 1991, when it was transferred to the Superintendence of Trapani. Built on an Arab fortress, the castle was expanded and embellished with battlements, towers, and gardens over the centuries. Today, it houses the Ethno-Anthropological Museum and the Lower Belice Museum, featuring archaeological finds and objects from rural life.
